Meet Gabriel Diallo
Hailing from the vibrant city of Montreal, Gabriel was born to a Guinean father and Ukrainian mother. At 22 years old, he has already made significant strides in his tennis career, making him a force to be reckoned with on the court. As of October 2023, he has soared to World No. 130 in the ATP singles rankings, and trust us, he’s just getting started.
From Challenger triumphs to Davis Cup glory
Gabriel’s journey to success began in the summer of 2022 when he made his ATP debut and secured his first title at the 2022 Granby Challenger. At just 20 years old, he became the youngest Canadian champion on the Challenger Tour since Félix Auger-Aliassime’s win in 2018. Gabriel’s victory propelled him to a career-high No. 335 in the ATP Rankings.
Fast forward to November 2022, where Gabriel played a pivotal role in Canada’s Davis Cup Finals win alongside Félix Auger-Aliassime, Denis Shapovalov, Vasek Pospisil, and Alexis Galarneau — a team effort that showcased his top-tier skills and solidified his status as one to watch.
Last year was a whirlwind for Gabriel! He made his top 150 debut at world No. 146, taking down heavy hitters like Liam Broady and Dan Evans at the Surbiton Trophy.
In August, Gabriel claimed his first-ever tour-level win at the National Bank Open in Toronto, followed by a doubles triumph at the Winnipeg Challenger with partner Leandro Riedi.
