Lyon Lifts and France Football Club: A multifaceted partnership on and off the field

In the vibrant soccer landscape of Vancouver, the France Football Club (FFC) has emerged as a symbol of unity, bringing together players from diverse backgrounds under a common passion for the game. Established in the summer of 2016 by a group of spirited French friends at Le Cambie, FFC not only champions sporting excellence but also celebrates French-speakers and a distinctly European style of play. What makes FFC unique is its commitment to fostering camaraderie among expats of francophone origins, as speaking French is a requirement for team membership. This vision has attracted players not just from France but also from Morocco, Algeria, Canada, Belgium, and beyond, fostering a sense of unity that transcends borders.Soccer player standing at the edge of the field. From the 2021/2022 season onward, Lyon Lifts has stood as a cornerstone sponsor, outfitting FFC players while also contributing to essential expenses. From covering accommodation costs for the annual Squamish tournament to handling post-game drinks at the local bar, Lyon Lifts ensures FFC can focus on the game and the camaraderie that follows.

As FFC continues to climb the ranks of the Vancouver Metro Soccer League, Lyon Lifts’ support has been instrumental in navigating licensing challenges and propelling the club to 5th place in Division 2 for both the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 seasons. Lyon Lifts also plays a pivotal role in supporting FFC’s participation in non-league events.

But the partnership is about more than just soccer. Recognizing the importance of community engagement, Lyon Lifts has extended its support far beyond the pitch during the 2021/2022 season by supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, an association helping children in need of a role model connect with adults who become their mentors. For every goal scored by FFC throughout the season, Lyon Lifts donated $50 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, and a $100 donation accompanied each clean sheet (when the team did not let any goals in).
